ABOUT

 

French soprano Marion Dumeige is quickly becoming recognized for the beauty of her voice, her sensitive artistry, and her musical versatility in a wide-ranging repertoire that spans the Baroque period through 21st century contemporary music. As said by the professional jury of Dutch Classical Talent Tour and Award: ‘‘Marion is a cannon! A true opera singer with an engaging personality. Her empathy and expressiveness are admirable’’.

Ms. Dumeige won the Händel Choir Jubilee Award 2022. The prize includes the opportunity to make her soloist debut at the Concertgebouw in Händel’s Messiah in December 2023. Marion is also one of the laureates of the edition 2020/2021 of the Dutch Classical Talent Tour & Award. In this context, she was offered a tour of twelve concerts in The Netherlands. She presented a participative and intimate miniature opera.    

      

In the season 2021/2022, she joined the Dutch National Opera Academy as a guest to perform the role of Arsace in Graun’s Cesare and Cleopatra and Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. 

As a member of the young artist program at the Festival Lyrique de Belle-Ile en Mer, Ms. Dumeige performed the roles of Violetta and Manon in excerpts of Verdi’s La Traviata and Massenet’s Manon. She has also performed La Baronne in Offenbach's La Vie Parisienne and Catherine in his operetta Pomme d'api.

On the concert stage, Ms. Dumeige has been the soprano soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria, Stravinsky’s Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Dvořák’s Te Deum and Rheinberger’s Stabat Mater.

​Ms. Dumeige studied at the Conservatoire de Caen and the Conservatoire de Rennes in France before coming to The Netherlands, where she finished her voice bachelor’s degree at Het Conservatorium van Amsterdam in June 2018.  Two years later she graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy, where she performed the role of Tigrane in Händel’s Radamisto and The Countess of Dunmow in Berkeley’s A Dinner Engagement.                    Ms. Dumeige is now studying with Margreet Honig and Selma Harkink.
